Greek wedding crowns, or Stefana, are one of the most important and parts of the Greek orthodox traditional wedding, used to symbolize the beginning of a union in the presence of Christ.

They symbolize the honour and glory that is being given to them by God when the crowns are placed on their heads, as a means of displaying the importance of the marriage. These crowns are joined by a ribbon, which is supposed to highlight the unity of the new couple.

In modern times, these crowns are typically comprised of silver and gold. However, the materials used to make them have changed significantly over history, with the first crowns being made from olive branches and lemon blossoms.
